Tulip and Dora belong to the same company and publish the same two day route: board at Tuan Chau, cross into Lan Ha Bay after lunch, kayak near Ba Trai Dao beach and sleep at anchor among the islands. Tulip lists more of the large suites, including two with a private terrace and jacuzzi at the bow. If you like the Dora route but want a bigger suite for a celebration or a family, this is the ship we would look at first.
Hour by hour
The ship's shuttle collects you in the Old Quarter if you add it. Coming from Cat Ba instead? Tell us and we plan the morning.

Check in at the waiting lounge, then a tender boat takes you out to where the ship is anchored.

Welcome drink, safety talk and cabin keys, then lunch as the ship passes the islets on the Ha Long side.

The ship stops near Ba Trai Dao, a small beach the crew calls Three Peaches. Paddle with the guide or swim.

A short class with the chef, then fruit, cake and tea on the sundeck while the light drops behind the karsts.

A set dinner in the restaurant. Allergies and vegetarian meals are easy if you tell us when you book.

Squid fishing off the stern, cards or karaoke, or just the quiet deck. The ship stays in Lan Ha overnight.

An easy tai chi session on the sundeck, then coffee or tea and a light breakfast as the bay wakes up.

Cycle or take an electric cart through Viet Hai, the farming village inside the national park, or stay on board and swim.

Pack up and hand back the key, then an early lunch on board on the way back to Tuan Chau.

The tender brings you ashore. Shuttle to Hanoi, or cross to Cat Ba with us on the car ferry from the same island.

The ship sets the final route on the day, with the weather and the harbour authority. The 3 days, 2 nights program is also available: ask us for its plan.

Our honest view
We treat Tulip and Dora as one choice with two price levels, because the day on the water is the same. Pick Tulip when the cabin matters: the bow suites with private terraces are the reason to book it. The website does not say how many standard cabins there are, so we confirm your exact cabin and its deck in writing before you pay.

After the cruise
Most ships land around noon. The car ferry to Cat Ba leaves from Tuan Chau. Stay a few nights with us and see the bay again from the other side.

The short hop from Ha Long: the little green ferry from Tuan Chau to Gia Luan, or a through bus. We tell you which suits your day and book it.
Our houseTwo nights at our own guesthouse, a day out on Lan Ha Bay, and a host who plans both. The simplest way to see Cat Ba our way.
Local lifeCross the bay by boat, then cycle a flat road into a farming valley that has never had a road to the rest of the island.
Good to know
The company and the published two day route are the same. Tulip lists more large suites, including two Royal Suites with a terrace and jacuzzi. Choose by cabin and price, not by route.
At Tuan Chau port in Ha Long. You check in at the waiting lounge around midday and a tender boat takes you to the ship. We can arrange the shuttle from Hanoi or a car from Cat Ba.
Yes. The published route crosses into Lan Ha in the afternoon, stops near Ba Trai Dao for kayaking and stays in Lan Ha overnight. Weather can change the route on the day.
Yes. The ship lands at Tuan Chau around noon, and the car ferry to Cat Ba leaves from the same island. We meet you with our transfer so you reach the island in the afternoon.
Prices move with the season, the suite and how full the ship is. Send us your dates and number of guests and we reply with the cabins really free and today's price.
Check dates
Send your dates and number of guests. We ask the ship what is really free and reply with cabins, today's price and the payment terms, in writing, before anything is charged.
Prices from Tulip Cruise's own website, checked on 7 October 2026. Ships change prices, cabins and routes, so we confirm everything again when you book.
