Terms, written to be read.

1. Who we are, and what we do

A Rustic Vietnam is the travel channel of a family that also runs Rustic House, a small guesthouse in Cat Ba Town. We sell and host the trips on this site; licensed local partners run the boats, trails and climbs themselves. We choose those partners, ride their trips before we sell a seat, and stay reachable around every booking. Their names appear on your written confirmation.

Our business registration and licensing details are listed on the company page. If anything there is marked as available on request, email us and we will send it the same day.

2. Booking and payment

A trip is confirmed when we send your written confirmation, which happens after two things: you have accepted the plan in writing, and your 50% deposit has been paid through our secure card link. Prices on this site are in US dollars and are per person unless a page says otherwise. The remaining balance is settled after your trip, in cash or by card, as agreed with your host. You never pay the full amount before the day.

3. Changes and cancellation

Our cancellation windows and refunds are on the cancellation policy page. The short version: cancel more than 48 hours before departure and you pay nothing; weather cancellations are refunded in full or moved to a new date, your choice. If a particular trip has different terms, they are stated on that trip's page and in your confirmation.

4. What we are responsible for, and what the operator is

We are responsible for the advice we give, the accuracy of this site, choosing and checking the partners we sell, and the hosting around your booking. The operator is responsible for running the trip itself: the vessel, the equipment, the crew and safety on board. If something goes wrong you tell us, once, and we handle it with them. You are never sent chasing two companies.

5. Insurance and health

Every operator we sell carries guest insurance for their own trips, as required by their licence. That cover has limits, so we ask every guest to hold their own travel insurance that includes boat trips and the activities on their itinerary. You agree to tell us, before you pay the deposit, about any medical condition or mobility need that could affect your day. We would rather change the plan than discover a problem on the water.

6. Weather, harbours and things beyond anyone's control

Trips in this region can be moved or cancelled by storms, harbour closures and other decisions made by the authorities or the captain. If that happens you choose between a full refund and a free new date. We do not charge anything on top in these cases, and we do not argue with the sky.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. If something goes wrong, tell us first: we are a small business that answers its messages, and almost everything can be fixed with a conversation. Formal disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Vietnam.
