Catherine sails the classic Ha Long Bay loop from its own waiting lounge at pier 42 in Tuan Chau. The afternoon brings Sung Sot Cave and Ti Top Island, the morning a paddle at Luon Cave by kayak or bamboo boat. Every cabin is a suite with a private balcony and a bathtub facing the water, from the 40 m² Premier Suite up to the 200 m² Villa President with its own butler. Both restaurants are Halal certified, and there is a prayer room on board.

Back at Tuan Chau
The ship docks at Tuan Chau. Take a shuttle to Hanoi, or cross to Cat Ba with us on the car ferry from the same island.

Our honest view
We suggest Catherine to couples, families with older parents and Muslim guests who want a big, steady ship with real space and Halal food. Be clear about the route: Sung Sot and Ti Top are the busiest stops in Ha Long, with many steps and many boats. If you want quiet water among empty islands, our Lan Ha cruises suit you better. The cabin count we have comes from agents, so we confirm your suite in writing.

- You travel with older parents and want well known stops and long, easy meals on board.
- You need Halal food or a quiet room to pray while you travel.
- You are celebrating and want a suite with a large balcony, or the Villa President with a butler.
Tell us early if
- You hope for a quiet bay. Sung Sot and Ti Top are the busiest stops in Ha Long, and Lan Ha is calmer.
- You have trouble with stairs. Sung Sot Cave and the Ti Top viewpoint both mean many steps.
- Your passport will not be with you. The port checks it at boarding and can refuse guests without it.
- You are travelling between July and September. Storms can cancel sailings, so keep a spare day.

Don't ride four hours back to Hanoi
Most ships land around noon. The car ferry to Cat Ba leaves from Tuan Chau. Stay a few nights with us and see the bay again from the other side.

Where does Catherine Cruise start?
At pier 42 of Tuan Chau port in Ha Long, where the ship has its own waiting lounge. Be there by 11:30 with your passport. We can arrange the car from Hanoi or from Cat Ba.
Is the shuttle from Hanoi included?
The company's itinerary sheet lists transfers as not included, while its amenities page describes a two way limousine. We confirm in writing whether your rate includes it before you pay.
Is the food Halal?
Yes. The company says both restaurants have been Halal certified by Halal Vietnam since February 2025, and there is a prayer room on board. Tell us your needs when you book.
How busy are Sung Sot Cave and Ti Top?
They are on almost every Ha Long cruise, so expect other groups and many steps, most of all on weekends and Vietnamese holidays. Ask us if someone in your group would rather stay on board.
Can we finish on Cat Ba instead of Hanoi?
Yes. The ship docks at Tuan Chau around 11:00, and the car ferry to Cat Ba leaves from the same island. We meet you with our transfer so you reach the island in the afternoon.
